I’d seen Dave’s Killer Bread in my local market, and had wondered if it was any good. When Moms Meet asked if I wanted to try it, I immediately said yes.

From their website: “THE BEST BREAD IN THE UNIVERSE. IT’S A TERM WE DON’T TAKE LIGHTLY, CONSIDERING IT COMES FROM OUR LEGIONS OF FANS. DAVE’S KILLER BREAD IS THE #1 BEST-SELLING ORGANIC BREAD IN THE U.S. WE DELIVER A COMPLETE LINE OF ORGANIC, NON-GMO PROJECT VERIFIED, WHOLE GRAIN BREADS. WE PUT OUR HEARTS INTO EVERYTHING WE DO, AND DON’T SETTLE UNTIL WE “KILL IT.”

Dave’s Killer Bread started out in 2005 and quickly became the favorite organic bread at their local Farmers Market in Portland, Oregon. Less than a decade later, they are the number one best-selling organic bread in the country. All of their breads are organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, and packed with killer taste and texture. Dave’s Killer Bread is known for its trademark explosion of seeds, delicious chewiness, and high-quality ingredients. But the company strives to be more than just bread makers—they believe in creating lasting change for the bread industry, their communities, and their employees.

Dave’s Killer Bread is available in 12 varieties in major grocery chains across 17 states and parts of western Canada. Dave’s Killer Bread packs a punch with delicious flavors loaded with seeds, ancient grains, and whole grain nutrition. Each slice contains as much protein as one egg! A loaf of Dave’s Killer Bread retails between $5.00 and $6.00.

This bread is a meal, in and of itself! There is so much going on, so many goodies packed into each & every slice, it’s amazing! Protein, fiber, whole wheat & no artificial anything!

This is normally where I’d share all my photos of the bread, and show you a yummy sammich I made with said bread…but not this time. You see, I was gone for a week and when I returned, ALL the bread was gone. Our oldest had eaten ALL of it. Soooo, instead of my pics, I’m going to share a killer photo from Dave’s Killer Bread website, and a killer recipe to go along with it! You ready?

Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you the Elvis! download

  • 2 slices of DKB, untoasted (We prefer Seeded Honey Wheat or Powerseed)
  • Organic Peanut Butter
  • Organic Banana
  • Organic Honey
  • Organic Nitrate- and Nitrite-free bacon

Lay down your slices of bread, and generously spread peanut butter on both. Slice your banana into rounds, about 1/4″ thick is perfect, and gently press them into one of your peanut buttered slices. Fry up 2-3 pieces of bacon until they are nice and crispy (the crunch is important here!) then lay them across the top of your foundation. If you really want to go ‘bananas’ pile a few more rounds on top of your bacon. Grab your honey and just start drizzling it all over the top of the pile. Drop the other slice on top and eat it like a sandwich, or if you want to be a bit more classy and neat, eat it with a fork.

I bet you want some of that, don’t you?!
